Healing the solar plexus chakra

The solar plexus is the third of the seven chakras, so it's also the third week of my healing. Almost our entire digestive system sits in this chakra, as well as our liver, lungs, adrenals & pancreas. This chakra's element is fire, which makes sense since it houses our digestive system (our body's digestive fire) and determines the strength of our inner fire, our confidence.

A lot of the health problems I've had in the last couple of years are associated with the solar plexus:

indigestion, loss of appetite, weight issues, liver & kidney issues, acne, lack of self worth, lack of confidence & indecisiveness. So as you can probably imagine, I was super excited to work on healing this chakra.

When this chakra is balanced, you will have a strong sense of intuition. You will feel in control of your thoughts & emotions; you will know your place in the world, you will have love & appreciation for yourself & others. The solar plexus is our source of energy & light that spreads to all with whom we come in contact. Week 3: The Solar Plexus Chakra

Sanskrit name, Manipura

Location: between the rib cage & navel

Color: yellow

Affirmation: I do enough. I am more than enough. I am confident in all that I do.

Foods: fresh fruits & veggies because of their high fiber & high water content; fiber & water keep the digestive system (the solar plexus area) functioning at its best. Yellow foods such as bananas, nectarines & peaches are great for healing this chakra.

Activity: core strengtheners such as pilates & martial arts. Express yourself creatively, whatever that means for you! Make choices that will empower you, step into the spotlight more & take the lead (even though you don't want to, it will make you feel more confident I promise!), try new things, listen to your gut intuition; also alone time is GREAT for healing the solar plexus, especially if you ground yourself while you're getting that me-time in :D
