Healing the heart chakra

This week, I've been working on healing the heart chakra. How fricken COOL is it that the full moon last night is the second full moon this month, a blue moon?! The full moon is a very powerful, magical & healing time that connects us to our hearts & our emotions, so I'm super excited that the moon is full during the week of my heart chakra healing! Extra opening, extra empowering, extra special

According to Elephant Journal, "a blue moon only occurs approximately every 2.7 years and its energy is 12 times more powerful than a regular full moon. It is a rare phenomenon that should not be missed. This is a once in a blue moon opportunity with maximum energetic effect that has the capacity to heighten the powerful outcome of anything we ask of it, if our intentions for the outcome are right."

So take a moment today or over the weekend to get quiet & tune into your heart; even better if you do so under the glow of the moon. Ask yourself what you have been doing to get in your own way, to keep yourself from going for whatever it is your heart desires & choose to let all of that go. Open up to the possibility of making your dreams come to life & release judgment, self-doubt & expectations. Let the energy & light of the blue moon pull you out of the darkness & into your full capacity to live from your heart.

I need to take a moment to geek out a bit about the divine timing of this chakra journey so far...eeeeek!! I can't get over it! Thanks universe ;) you always have my back

3rd chakra

The heart chakra is the fourth chakra & is the center of love & compassion towards ourselves, others & the world around us. If you've ever felt like you easily absorb the emotions of other people (if they're negative, sad, angry & you get negative, sad or angry) & feel drained afterwards; if you've ever felt extreme loneliness, depression, anxiety, feeling like you don't belong; if you tend to be critical of yourself or others; if you tend towards defensiveness, these are all signs of heart chakra imbalance.

Week 4: The Heart Chakra

Sanskrit name, Anahata

Location: center of the chest

Color: green

Affirmation: I am love. I give & receive love effortlessly.

Foods: anything green! Kale, watercress, spinach, romaine, spirulina, chlorella, basil, parsley, celery, broccoli, avocado...another healing food for the heart, pure dark chocolate :)

Activity: choose activities you LOVE! Whatever it is that makes you happy, just do it! Your heart comes first. You'll get an extra heart-opening boost if you share an activity with a friend or group of friends! Something else that helps open this chakra is a gratitude journal: list a few things you are grateful for & why; you'll feel your heart open & expand as you write.
